Meet Stephanie Y. Richey
Stephanie Y. Richey is the owner and operator of
Independent Grant Services. Independent Grant Services is a spin-off from The Paperchase, a company started in 1999. The Paperchase closed in 2006 and in 2009 emerged as
Independent Grant Services (IGS).
IGS is a consulting company that provides various grant services to individuals, corporations and non-profit organizations. Stephanie Richey has worked with various organizations in the Greater Nashville area to help promote business success through grant writing workshops, grant locating and research, and proposal writing. She has recently added to her scope of services an ACT preparation course that is free and open to the Nashville community. This 6 session course prepares high school students for the ACT test as well as assists them in submitting for various scholarship and educational grant opportunities.

Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Stephanie graduated from Hume Fogg
Academic Magnet High School. She attended Tennessee State
University where she received her Bachelors degree and Masters
Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. She still lives in
Nashville with her son Michael and dog Frazier. In addition to
grant writing, Stephanie is a fraud investigator for a local
Federal program safeguard contractor. Stephanie has assisted
with various community organizations (past and present) and is
continuously involved in community events with organizations
including but not limited to the 18th Avenue.
Family Enrichment Center, Gilda’s Club of Nashville, The
American Cancer Society, the Metropolitan Nashville Board of
Education’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC), and the Magnet
Cluster Group for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. Her
most cherished service is with the Schrader Lane Church of
Christ Summer Educational Enrichment and Development (SEED)
program where she has volunteered continuously since 1992
